Trelleborg - in Denmark the future of zero energy housing started 40 years ago
Four decades ago the family Clorius set out to meet the challenges of modern timber framed single family housing. Houses from Trelleborg have ever since been characterized by a building envelope with low heat transmission, a healthy indoor climate and a long durability.
Today the energy performance of a Trelleborg house is 10 times better than the current average for European single family houses. A Trelleborg house of 200 m2 can be provided with heating and hot water supply using only 15 kWh/m2 annually. This low energy consumption is obtained by a high performance building envelope in combination with mechanical ventilation, integrated heat exchanger and a heat pump system for heating and hot water supply.
In Denmark Trelleborg provides houses for the upper part of the market where energy consumption and long term performance are points of focus. Trelleborg houses have on a connoisseur level been exported to the USA, Greenland, England, Japan, Germany and France during the preceding four decades. We expect to enlarge our export activities to a broader market as the houses from Trelleborg meets the highest classifications in all European implementations of the directive on the energy performance of buildings.
Building highly insulated houses with low heat transmission, long term durability and a healthy indoor climate takes an uncompromising concept and meticulous execution in the building process. We believe that 40 years have brought Trelleborg to that level of excellence. |
